Getting There
Travelling via Rome
If you are travelling from America, New Zealand, Australia or other parts of the world, by far the easiest way is to fly direct to Rome, pick up a hire car and to drive the 2 and a half hour scenic journey on the Autostrada. You could combine a stay in Rome with some time in Abruzzo to recover in more tranquil surroundings. The route goes through the mountains and it is a joy to drive on this quiet stretch of road from coast to coast.
Hertz and Europcar seem to have the best deals, see our links page.
There are direct flights from Toronto to Pescara during the summer months with Sunquest as there is a big Canadian connection with the area. There is a large Canadian war cemetery at Ortona.
Flying from Stansted
If you are in the South of England then by far the easiest and cheapest way to travel to Abruzzo is with Ryanair from Stansted airport to Pescara airport. Flight timetables and costs are available at Ryanair’s website which can be accessed from our links page, or we will be happy to book this for you.
Our properties are no more than an hour from Pescara airport. We can arrange a pick-up and drop-off service and take you straight to your accommodation. The cost is £40 each way for up to 4 people, £60 for up to six people. This is much cheaper than a taxi.
Flying from Other Airports
If you are travelling from other areas of Britain you may want to consider the option of flying to Rome from your local airport. The journey from Rome to most areas of Abruzzo is 2-3 hours by car. We will be happy to arrange car hire for you from the airport or we offer a pick up service, which can be arranged at time of booking. If you want help finding a flight then let us know.

The area is popular with many European tourists and as well as driving and trains, flights are available from Frankfurt, Paris, Brussels and Timisoara. We do have French, German and Italian speakers so drop us an email and we will be happy to help with your travel arrangements.
Driving to Italy
It is possible to drive to Italy in 2 days even from the north of England. The total travel time from crossing the channel tunnel is 15 hours.
